Mary Nguyen is a therapeutically-endorsed optometrist who graduated with a Masters of Clinical Optometry and a Bachelors of Vision Science from the University of New South Wales.
Her passion for optometry began through experiencing her own elderly family members struggling with blindness. There are high rates of preventable blindness in certain ethnic communities due to inadequate access to eye care in their lifetime. She believes that our generation has the responsibility to close this gap. This involves enhancing patient's education and awareness about the importance of ocular health. Mary's main clinical interests are in early detection and treatment of ocular diseases, primarily glaucoma, macular disease and degenerative myopia.
In her leisure time, Mary enjoys playing competitive dodgeball. She competes in NSW state competitions and enjoys promoting her love for the sport. She has 2 dogs who she also loves to spoil.
